Legislative Business—familiarity with floor process in the Senate to debate legislation and consider the President’s nominees; familiarity with Committee and Subcommittee process to conduct hearings, hold executive sessions, and conduct negotiations with other Member offices and House committee staff; analysis of bill and report language, and development of amendments to both. Strategic Interactions—development of a trajectory of meetings and interactions with other personal offices, committee offices, federal agencies, and non-federal stakeholders that achieves a specific operational/execution goal, and establishes an enduring relationship.Research Project Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service & Texas Sea Grant Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC)-Sea Grant Program Office; TAMU; https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14641/471; DHS-Federal Emergency Management AgencyTexas Sea Grant will continue its second year of implementing planning support projects under FEMA’s Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) program as a Cooperating Technical Partner (CTP). Tasks are divided into two project areas and a Strategic Plan. The two project areas are the Citizen Planner Pilot Project and Resiliency Workshops. The Citizen Planner project will result in the development of a planning education program for local officials in Texas. The curriculum will educate local officials to understand and interpret municipal planning powers and tools for the protection of Texas communities from flooding hazards. The Resiliency Workshops will be organized and hosted by Texas Sea Grant in priority Texas counties through engagement with local and county government stakeholders. The workshops will utilize the CHARM mapping application. Work tasks proposed in this scope will be developed in close collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service CERC program coordinators and staff (Proposal No: 1605918). Specified deliverables resulting from this scope will be submitted directly to the sponsor.
