Through its enabling legislation, Natchez National Historical Park (NATC) is charged with interpreting the world of chattel slavery. In order to fulfill its mission, NATC and its partners are undertaking a historic building survey of the slave dwellings and other outbuildings at two NATC sites, Melrose and the William Johnson House. This project will advance NATC’s mission and public interpretation of its historic sites.
